Born in the small Eastern European country of Moldova to a guitarist/pianist and singer, Andreea has always been surrounded by music. After moving to the states, Andreea’s fascination with the violin began and she started taking lessons at 7 years old. She studied the violin and piano for 11 years with Irene Morden, a graduate of the St. Petersburg Conservatory of Music.
Now finishing her undergraduate degree at UGA in violin performance under Dr. Michael Heald, Andreea has been teaching violin and piano for four years. Her students have gone on to join the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, earned admittance to the Talent Development Program with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, as well as earn admittance into middle school and high school All-State programs. She has worked with many students differing in age, skill level, and aspirations. Andreea’s teaching style is focusing on technique as well as teaching theory even from a young age. She implements lessons through creative and fun exercises that make students excited to go and practice!
Her musical focus is in ethnomusicology and she loves to study the way people from around the world experience music. Aside from Western classical music, she is interested in and teaches many different styles of music such as bluegrass, Middle Eastern, Eastern European, and some Brazilian styles. She is passionate about learning and teaching music from around the world, and is an aspiring performer and professor.
