Ellie Deener graduated from Georgia College & State University in May 2023, Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Music (piano primary) and double minors in Creative Arts Therapies and Creative Music Media. She has been a lifelong lover of music, and with that background loves to share and instill the same enthusiasm and enjoyment in her students’ musical journeys. She has taught piano for many years, beginning in high school and continuing teaching throughout her degree, while growing in her pedagogy skills and personal musicianship.
One of Ellie’s favorite memories throughout her time studying music at GCSU was getting to participate in collaborative chamber music with her group, The Imposter Trio (piano, saxophone, percussion). During their time as students, the trio had the opportunity to perform at two national conferences, and premiered a commissioned piece, Rainbowfish by Ian T. Jones.
Ellie loves incorporating adaptive techniques in her teaching to include and support all passionate music learners in their lessons.
In her free time, she enjoys pursuing her interests in hiking, rock climbing, crocheting, and being a foodie!
