Simone Hayes

Piano

We are so excited to welcome Ms. Simone to our team of expert piano instructors.

Simone Hayes is a pianist from Marietta, Georgia. She’s had a love for the piano from the moment her dad taught her the notes on their keyboard. She first started taking private lessons at the age of 7 and continued into her early years of college. Simone has studied under many teachers who emphasized good technique, a well-rounded understanding of theory, and learning a variety of genres. Thanks to Simone’s favorite teacher, Thaila Walker, she has played in many local, national, and international festivals and auditions. This includes the National Federation of Music Clubs and National Piano Guild Auditions. One of Simone’s most proud moments was earning her Sonatina Plaque and becoming an International member of the Guild.

Simone’s strongest musical background and favorite genre is classical music. She also has experience in jazz due to two years of experience in her high school jazz band. Additionally, she has roughly 8 years of experience in CCM and worship music.

Simone started her college journey as a Piano Pedagogy major at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. There she studied under Kristian Klefstad, aced her theory, aural skills, and sight reading classes, as well as enjoyed many performances by her classmates. Now, Simone is in her second year at UGA as a Social Work Pre-Law major.

When she’s not playing the piano, Simone dedicates her time to taking care of her plants. She has almost 40 house plants and succulents that have turned her home into a jungle. She also enjoys crafting and creating pottery.
