In addition to his performance experience, Riley also holds a K-12 Teacher Certification, and has taught with numerous elementary, middle and high school music programs across the country. While primarily a euphonium player, he is a proficient trombone doubler, and has extensive teaching experience with the entire brass instrument family. He spent his undergrad marching with the Sudler Trophy winning Michigan Marching Band and two-time DCI World Champion Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps, and uses this experience to aid his teaching, both on and off of the football field.

Outside of music, Riley enjoys hiking, running, cooking, and visiting his family in Montana.
